About Us

Ridge Avenue United Methodist Church has a rich and blessed history serving the Roxborough community for more than 170 years. Our congregation started in the “little yellow school house” and has grown into a thriving ministry on the corner of Ridge and Shawmont Avenues in Philadelphia.

As worship and ministry continue to evolve, Ridge Avenue UMC continues to offer faithful praise and worship proclaiming the Gospels, upholding the rich Methodist traditions, educating it’s fellowship with the Scriptures, developing strong leadership within the community and providing a place where people can find and build a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
